With more than 30 years of experience in civil engineering, project management and office administration, Mr. Norris is a well-respected professional civil engineer in the metropolitan Washington, DC area. He began his career during college as a Fellowship Appointee to the U.S. Army and as a Design Draftsman for local civil engineering companies. Since graduation from the University of Maryland, he has honed his design and management skills and grown from a Design Engineer to the Director of Engineering.
Mr. Norris has extensive knowledge of zoning, land development feasibilities, site planning & engineering, infrastructure rehabilitation, utility system design, roadway alignments, stormwater management, floodplain studies and construction administration. He is a Green Associate and has experience in project LEED programs. His comprehensive project management experience encompasses a wide range of projects and coordination with members of design teams including land surveyors, architects, contractors and other engineering disciplines. His expertise also includes processing plans through various public agencies for approvals and permitting.
His out-going personality has made him an important asset for coordinating plans for input from local citizens and the presentation of projects at public hearings. This has included Planning Boards, City Councils, and the Board of Appeals. This also enhances his ability to interact with clients and strong marketing skills.
It is important to note that Mr. Norris is a former business owner where he gained experience in complete office administration and budgeting. He takes full responsibility for the financial success of projects and client satisfaction.
